Perfex CRM Customization & Module Development

Perfex CRM is a powerful open-source customer relationship management system. In this project, I customized and extended its core functionality to meet specific business requirements including custom modules, advanced reporting, and workflow automation.

1. Custom Module Development:

Built custom modules for item grouping, advanced search, and dynamic dropdown logic. Extended Perfex's modular architecture to add new features without modifying core files. Created custom tables and relationships while maintaining upgrade compatibility.

2. Invoice & Deal Management:

Enhanced invoice module with custom fields, automated numbering, and multi-currency support. Built deal pipeline with stage tracking, probability calculations, and conversion forecasting. Integrated payment tracking with automated reminders.

3. Transaction Management:

Developed transaction-related custom features including expense tracking, revenue recognition, and financial reconciliation. Built audit trails for all financial transactions. Implemented approval workflows for expenses above certain thresholds.

4. Database Optimization:

Optimized MySQL queries for better performance with large datasets. Added proper indexes on frequently queried columns. Resolved data consistency issues by implementing database constraints and validation rules. Reduced query execution time by 35%.

5. User Interface Enhancements:

Redesigned key UI components for better usability. Added custom dashboards with role-based widgets. Implemented advanced filtering and export functionality (CSV, Excel, PDF). Improved mobile responsiveness.

6. Integration Capabilities:

Integrated third-party APIs for email marketing (Mailchimp), SMS notifications (Twilio), and payment gateways. Built webhook handlers for real-time data synchronization. Created REST API endpoints for mobile app integration.

7. Security & Access Control:

Enhanced security with CSRF protection, input sanitization, and SQL injection prevention. Implemented granular permission system for different user roles. Added login attempt limiting and IP-based access control.

8. Testing & Deployment:

Wrote comprehensive unit tests for custom modules using PHPUnit. Conducted UAT with stakeholders and incorporated feedback. Deployed on dedicated server with CI/CD pipeline for automated testing and deployment.
